| | Winnie Mix - please see description
female, 7, 45 lbs.
Spayed, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
Meet Winnie. She is a 7yr old who is apparently, as the result of DNA testing a little mix of this and a little mix of that, with Italian Greyhound being the predominant breed (25%). She weighs 45lbs. Winnie is current on all vaccines, spayed, heartworm neg and on preventative, as well as, flea/tick preventative. She is housebroken, cratetrained, microchipped. And Winnie is a dream dog. She is one of the easy fosters according to her foster Mom. You see, Winnie not only gets along with other dogs, she does well with cats and even rabbits. All of these pets were in her former home. While in rescue she spends a couple of days a week at doggy day care, happily playing until her foster Mom comes to get her. Winnie knows some of her basic commands very well, as in sit, down, come and best of all she has recall. This means if Winnie is running full speed you call her and she will instantly come back. She is a loving, affectionate, happy dog who according to her vet, and we agree, is very eager to please. She has a gorgeous coat, to pet her is like rubbing velvet. Winnie originally came to rescue when she was 4 days old. We adopted her to her former home at 91/2 weeks old. This is where she has been living a great life. Because of economic strain, Winnie's family after 7 yrs, couldn't care for her any longer. She had the good life of a privileged dog. We have promised Winnie's family that we would find her another perfect home. If you are interested in learning more about this great dog, who will easily fit into her next home, please contact Elane at Frankstersmom@aol.com

| | Brad Pit Bull terrier / Pit bull mix
male, 3, 60 lbs.
Neutered, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
This handsome dog just appeared in someones backyard. He jumped over their privacy fence. He was in good condition wearing a nice collar. He knows how to sit, lie down, roll over, give you his paw, and loves to go for car rides. He came with these skills. Someone really loved him. He spent several weeks at animal control waitng for his owner to claim him. Signs were put up around the neighborhood. No one came. The good neighbor called us to save Brad Pit. He is an awesome dog. Strong and Sweet are the two adjectives that best describe him. He gets along great with female dogs. He has nice house manners. He does not mind a crate. He loves people. Especially people that will take him for a walk or ride. He clears 6 ft fences with ease so actually no fenced yard is required. But he MUST be kept on a leash at all time. Not too worry about excercising him. He knows how to jog on the treadmill. A trainer started to teach him and soon found out Brad knew all about treadmills.

| | Dougal Black Lab / Spaniel mix
male, 2-3 years, 72 lbs.
Neutered, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
Dougal came to ART because his owner was leaving the area and couldn't take him with her.
Dougal is a calm, reserved boy who is good with both dogs & children, but would do best with kids over 6 who can love/play with him and still respect his need to relax. He will need a home without cats. He currently lives with a 1 year-old Boxer and they get along wonderfully. Dougal is not a big barker but is a sensible protector who will alert if a stranger is outside the home. He walks with a Gentle Leader/Halti and has great leash manners - his foster mom's 7 year-old son can walk him! He knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, come). Dougal is not food possessive at all. He is house-broken, non-destructive, and does not need crating. Give Dougal's big black-velvet, Labby ears a rub and win a best friend for life!

| | ROSIE Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix
female, 6 years, 60 lbs.
Spayed, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
Rosie was recently transfered from a local shelter to our rescue. She was picked up as a stray. Rosie quickly stole the heart of an animal control officer who notified us. This dog has got a BIG smile and loves attention. She gets along well with dogs but is not cats. Rosie loves using the doggie door at her foster home. Her foster mom often dog sits and Rosie accepts the canine visitors big and small. She is happy to share the couch as long as she gets a comfy spot. She enjoys walks but spending snuggly time with you will please her most. Rosie is a low maintenance girl. She is okay in the car, okay with walks, and happy just to hangout at home. She is not destructive and will nap while you are away. The vet says she is in great shape for an older girl. For more information email caring4paws@cox.net.

female, 10 years, 40 lbs.
Spayed, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
Cotton was turned in by a hunter who didn’t find her useful anymore because of her failing eyesight. The hunter asked the vet to euthanize her but that caring vet called ART to help because Cotton has a lot of life left in her and she is sweet, sweet, sweet! She is playful and affectionate and is enjoying the good life in her foster home. Cotton is crate trained and the perfect housedog for someone who wants a low maintenance family member. Although an older girl, we just know there is a family out there who will allow Cotton to live out her remaining years in the comfort of a loving home! | | Scout Hound
male, 10 years, 50 lbs.
Neutered, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
Scout was found as an emaciated stray – clearly a once-hunting dog who has had a hard life and lost his way. He is a gentleman – a happy boy who loves nothing more than a head scratch and a soft bed on which to sleep. It has been a pleasure to watch Scout evolve from an emotionally shut-down creature into a dog who responds to affection and loves toys! Scout has been diagnosed with early stage kidney disease – perhaps caused by malnutrition – but with the proper meds he has some good time left on this earth and he wishes for nothing more than a loving household in which to live out his life. He is a beautiful, sweet boy! If you are interested, please contact Susan Corbitt at caring4paws@cox.net or call 404-6032.

| | Dakota Greyhound / lab mix
4 years, 60 lbs.
Spayed, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
Our beautiful "black pearl dog" has been overlooked too long! Black dogs are often the last to be adopted. Visit www.blackpeardogs.com to find out more about the black dog syndrome. Dakota loves to be where her people are and be can be quite a clown; she likes to have an array of toys lined up to play with all at once, tossing them in the air and chasing them down the hallway. When she is not playing with a toy she absolutely loves to look out the window. She is a sweet girl, well trained and well mannered, and eager to work for a treat. She is housebroken and is fine in the house with free roam when her fosters are not at home. She is fine with dogs but no cats.

| | George Hound mix
male, 4 years, 58 lbs.
Neutered, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
George's family of four years lost their home and surrendered their pet to ART. George missed his family and was quite unsettled for sometime. He had to be moved from one foster home to another until we found the perfect set up for him. George loves a big SECURE back yard with a 6 foot fence. He likes to have access to the yard throughout the day. George would like a social canine buddy but not too many. One sweet, fun female would be a real plus. He gets along with all people. However he would be too tempted to run out the front door with children coming and going. He needs someone with hound experience who would understand his strong desire for snacking and roaming. In the present foster home George is doing Great!!!. (he has the girl and the yard to make him smile) He is housebroken, not destructive and walks well on the leash.
